ComplexCon becomes ComplexLand in new WebGL based Virtual Festival

The unique minds behind the streetwear festival ComplexCon have created a new virtual festival called ComplexLand. CompleCon has been going strong since 2016, and it’s famous for its exclusive drops, unique food trucks, industry discussions, guests and musical experiences. The new online version will contain the same essential elements while including an interactive online experience.

The online experience is single-player based, allowing the user to traverse to clothing drops, talk to NPCs, and even order food. People attending ComplexLand can experience the usual, exclusive streetwear. ComplexLand is working with brands like Adidas, Tokidoki, and BAPE. Everything you can see is available to purchase in the virtual experience. Personally having created multiple virtual single user worlds, I can tell you that building a WebGL single user experience of this scale, is an enormous undertaking. With so many individual interaction points, and dynamic content to support this expansive virtual world, you can see how massive of a project this must have been.

Within the experience are other integrations utilizing 3rd party apps like Sole Collector and Adidas Confirmed.

Integrated Experiences Fuel Complexland with Unique Drops and Sponsorships

Sneaker Scavenger Hunt

One of the integrated experiences at ComplexLand was to offer diehard sneaker-heads access to the most coveted pairs of sneakers out there. Essentially eBay and Sole Collector got together to create a sneaker scavenger hunt that lasts between Dec 7th and 11. Attendees will have the chance to win some of the most sought after sneakers from the past 35 years. Each day, a different silhouette from Sneaker of the Year: The Best Since 85 will be announced as the grail of the day via a push notification on the Sole Collector app. Knowing which shoes are up for grabs is only the beginning. Here’s how it works:

Each day fans will get a different clue in the form of a question and be prompted to explore ComplexLand in search of the ebay branded non-playable character. One they find the NPC. they submit their answer to the question. Those who respond correctly will automatically be entered in a raffle for a chance to win that day’s featured grail.

Micro-sponsorships

Head and Shoulders / Character Avatar Hairstyle Customizer

Head and Shoulders features custom hairstyles you can apply to your user avatar, designed especially to invite ComplexLand attendees to look fresh and take their carbon copies “up to 100” with styles that show off their individual personalities. One lucky winner each day will win a Head & Shoulders swag bag sure to boost their confidence levels up to 100. The swag bag will include a variety of grooming products (including Head & Shoulders shampoo, of course) and ComplexLand merch. To enter, all you have to do is find the “Take It to 100” Non-Playable Character (you can’t miss him 😉 and submit your details when prompted. Winners will be randomly selected and notified on December 11. Look out for the “Take it up to 100” NPC all week long and don’t forget, using Head & Shoulders regularly is clinically proven to give you up to 100% dandruff protection for no visible flakes, to keep you feeling confident, either in IRL or URL.
