Being surrounded by pure beauty in Michigan’s great Upper Peninsula
It’s the times like these that make me realize how connected we’ve become. As human beings, we should seek nature more frequently.
It was finally the weekend. Some friends had invited me to go on a camping adventure deep into the forest of northern Michigan’s upper peninsula. Just past three and a half hours, we made it to our secret location. It was deep into the jungle, far from any other hikers, campers or families who may have been out and about enjoying the summertime wilderness.
We spend hours walking through the dense woods,
We stumbled across some beautiful waterfalls along our hike, this one in particular, we decided to go underneath. We slowly walked through the waist deep water, set down our things and continued to find a way to walk underneath the water as it flowed over the edge of the waterfall. Upon finding a niche, we slowly walked into the water-covered cavern one foot in front of the other. We finally reached a point where we could all sit underneath it as the water shot over our heads with a strong force. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Once we returned to the river, we noticed we were covered in bugs from the lake.
Gentle streams flowed in parallel with our trail, creating a sonic landscape of nature.
